1971-75 Stockholm University, BA in Sinology (study of Chinese) and Japanology. Took several extensive courses studying Sanskrit, Tibetan, Korean, Buddhism, and cultural history of the Far East as well as general Linguistics
1972 Graduated as Research Librarian after internal training at the National Library of Sweden .
1978-1980 Beijing University, postgraduate studies in classical Chinese literature and traditional Chinese opera.
1984-1988 Institute of Far Eastern Languages, part time Ph.D. researching textual autenticity and social customs in the shihuo and yinshi sections of the early Leishu- encyclopedias.
1989-2008 Regularly deliver lectures in Sinology, Library Science and Humanistics, frequent topics focusing on history of Chinese architecture, Chinese traditional customs and history of chinese opera and music, at the Universities of Lund and Stockholm.
1972-2008 Over the years receiver of several educational grants to study various aspects of Asian printing and especially Chinese book history. Also frequent visits to monasteries in China specializing in Monumental Architectural Structures and Buddhist and Daoist religions both in China, Taiwan and Japan.
Frequently lecturing on Far Eastern, Central Eastern and Middle Eastern Classical Music specialized in religious music and traditions. Often invited lecturer to other European and North American institutions.
In 2001 invited as panel expert at a conference on Religious Music in Luxor, Upper Egypt

1972-73 Appointed Research Librarian at the Far Eastern department of the Royal Library
1973-78 The Stockholm University Sinological Library, Head Librarian. Also responsible for the Far Eastern collection of The Royal Library.
1981-90 Formed and became a member of the steering comitte of EASL (The European Association of Sinological Librarians), responsible for reporting on library computerization using native scripts including Chinese, Japanese, and Korean (CJK-languages).URL: http://www.easl.org/loclib/loclib.html
1981-84 The Stockholm University Sinological Library, Head Librarian. Responsible for new aquisitions and merging the collections of The Far Eastern Museum of Antiquities and Art Library and The Royal Library Far Eastern Materials Collection.
1984-86 Sent by the Swedish government to major libraries in the United States and Far East to study computerization of Far Eastern Library collections.
1985-2007 The Stockholm Far Eastern Library, Director. Responsible for Far Eastern Collections of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Manchu, and Tibetan language materials, among others. Designer of the Library Multiscript (Chinese, Japanse and Korean Language vernacular script) Database and Archive Systems.
1987 Apple Computer, Sweden. Worked as a contractor with localization of Apple software for the Swedish market.
1988-91 Computer consultant. Worked with freetext CJK-language database systems on Vax. Computerized The Stockholm Far Eastern Library and several other European Far Eastern Libraries using Macintoshes networked to mainframes.
1989-2008 Formed my own consulting company LingO iO specializing in large database and multicriptsystems especially interaction with chinese and japanese vernacular scripts. I am also still holding my position at the Far Eastern Library.
1997-2002 Restoring a Lost World through Historical Photo.The Nemesis of a private long time prepared project but actively pursued since 1998 (see separate appendix: Text in English only, with a brief summary in Chinese)
2002 Appointed coordinator of an Asian European Museum project after own proposal at a International Museum workshop in Leiden, Holland Spring 2002. "Places no longer in existence.- An attempt to digitally recreate a lost world".
2006-2008 Concerts with crickets. Audioinstallation and Recorded CDs.
This project was designed and drafted by me as a Internaltional Project proposal closely based on my individual Historical Photo Project (mentioned above) to the ASEMUS (Asia-Europe Network of Museums, a new network for co-operative projects between museums in Asia and Europe, in which my institution is a member. I have written and published several articles in the fields of sinology in Swedish, English and Chinese as well as reports on library computerization. Not to get too specialized and technical I still would like to mention a few more things about my Ph.D thesis. It is an attempt to reconstruct some of the early techniques of fermentation and brewing in China and at the same time test for authenticity all quotations regarding the same topics in the early Encyclopaedias dating from between + 800 - 1200. I am also trying to describe the traditional historiography as well as social habits, distribution and legislations related to the topic. It involves a huge sourcematerial and one of its added values is in the bibliographic research that went into establishing the sources themselves.
I am a fluent reader and speaker of several languages and apart from my native Swedish and my second language Chinese. I'm in command at an academic level of the English, German and French languages.
