Ting Qiu - Listening to Autumn

Two weeks in October will be devoted to tracking down mastermusicians in Shanghai and Beijing regions. I will meet with cricket breeders, catchmen and traders to form the basis for following events during the winter 2006-2007. They will all arrive in Stockholm just in time for the release of my second CD with Chinese Crickets called:

Ting Qiu - Listen to Autumn, with improvising musicians playing alongside the installation of three times one hundred and eight chinese crickets (i.e. three rosaries of crickets) that will just have been brought back by me from China with the kind permission of the Swedish Board of Agriculture division of Plant Protection (Jordbruksverkets avdelning för växtskydd). There will also be slideshows illustrating Chinese Cricket Culture and Environmental questions pertaining to crickets and their natural habitats.

• Release of the CD Ting Qiu - Listening to Autumn, with some information about the recording process and a short introduction of traditional Chinese Cricketculture.

• Audiosamples from the "leitmotif" and highlights from the CD'n Ting Qiu - Listening to Autumn

• Concerts with 13 musicians in three independent sets.
Two Individual sets from the stage in the restaurant Babajan in the Ethnographic museum.

• One set with all thirteen musicians improvising with the crickets in the Auditorium.

• Live TV-Webcast will cover the whole evening.
Live web cast at 19h (18h GMT) at www.countryandeastern.se

• Recording for the Swedish Radio to be aired at a later time.

• Installation of 3 x 108 crickets of ten different species i six stations. Six Bamboo poles in pendulum from the ceiling.

• Continuous slideshow of cricketrelated images that runs in the auditorium where the crickets are playing the whole evening, a perfect retreat for meditation with the cricket rosary ensembles....

• DJ. MultiKulti with a remix of the just released CD Ting Qiu - Listening to Autumn

• Food and Beverages will be available to order the whole evening in the Restaurant Babajan that is fully licensed.

One copy of the CD "Ting Qiu - Listening to Autumn" is included in the admission fee to the concerts that will be set to 200 Swedish Crowns.

If you should happen to miss this historical evening do not despair! There will be ample opportunity to enjoy the Chinese Cricket Rosary Ensemble at the newly opened Gallery Tegen 2. Where the crickets will spend the last three weeks of November.

Opening ceremonies at 5 PM Thursday November 9th.

Installation together with the artist Gunilla Sköld-Feiler of one rosary of one hundred and eight chinese crickets at the recently opened new Gallery Tegen 2, at Bjurholmsgatan in Stockholm. There will also be slideshows on Chinese Cricket Culture and Environmental questions pertaining to crickets and their natural habitats, as well as concerts and poetry readings. The first performance of a newly written composition by Dror Feiler on his rare collection of select historical sounding moulten bells, tinkling chiselled chimes and other resonating cast metal, performing together with Mr. Fung's Chinese Cricket Rosary Ensemble of Purple Bamboo Bells, Ink Bells, Yellow Bells & Heavenly Bells.

The installation will be open daily during the last three weeks in November 2006.
